I recently wrote a post on Facebook regarding the heaviness that has covered me in this season. It has been difficult to shake this heaviness due to all that is going on in the world right now - chaos, shutdowns, division, hatred, and fear. This year, 2020, has been very difficult to maneuver. For me, I lost a brother and my mother. The pandemic intensified the grieving as not only could we not be there for our loved ones as often as we would have liked but also had to postpone their services. We were sadden that many were unable to attend due to the many travel rules and restrictions related to the pandemic. Many of our loved ones were unable to say goodbye and find closure.
Closure is important. It is cherishing the great aspects and saying goodbye to the loss. We need closure so we can move forward. There have been many losses this year for every one of us and we need closure so we can move forward. Yet working through these losses has been similar to walking through quicksand. I kept feeling that at any point, I would sink deep within the darkness that keep pulling me under. Oh, I could face out quite well. I often am seen as strong and confident yet behind the scenes the struggle is real and often overwhelming. I sense this has been true for many of us. We put on the face yet underneath lies intense stress.
Even trusting the Lord is challenging in these times. It felt like the heavens were closed and I was covered by one of the darkest clouds I have ever been under. I use the quicksand scenario because reaching out for help, finding someone or something to grab hold of to pull me out seemed no where in sight. Everyone around me was being pulled under by their own worries and fears. I wonder how many out there can identify with this. Your story is different than mine yet just as intense and like me you have settled under its covering - tired, hopeless, stressed, and overwhelmed.
I write this today to give you hope. You can get back up and when you do, your head will rise above the darkness and see the light that is waiting for you. I was determined to press through and press in to find solutions for my dilemma. The morning I made this decision, I fought hard in prayer and the Lord not only heard my cry but also gave me encouragement, hope, and answers. He broke through the heaviness and said this. I believe it is not only for me but for everyone who needs help in these dark times.
"I am removing this heaviness and igniting a fire within your soul. You will advance! I have not left you but have been with you even though it feels the opposite. You will arise from your slumber. Joy will return. Fear will flee but you need to position yourself closer to me (the Lord). There has been an agenda of fear and control to keep you isolated, fearful, and unproductive. But I am pulling you up from underneath it. Now arise and see My light."
Instead of focusing on the darkness, we must rise above it for this is where our help comes from. This is where we find solutions, new strategies, and a way to walk through. It is only through looking up are we able to see that hand or object that is able to pull us out of the quicksand we are stuck in. When I did, the Lord began revealing to me new revelation for breakthrough. A fire was truly ignited within me and I was able to get off the couch!
Get ready to get off your couch of despair! The year 2020 began full of promises. I was so excited yet it was snatched away. But God!! I declare it will not end this way for me and I declare the same for you. His promises are true and He is faithful. I just heard a word from Joe Joe Dawson who received a word from the Lord saying September will be super. Let's rise above the chaos or what I call the view of the world and stand up to see and accept God's promises once again. Expect supernatural change and your life to be full of super encounters, super success, super restoration of finances, super return of relationships, and super favor over your life. Press through and press in!
Will you join me and many others in saying no to the demise of the enemy and yes to the things of the Lord? Take your God given authority and receive the hand of the Lord to pull you out of your 'quicksand'. It is not over yet!
I leave you with this scripture as it speaks volumes about where our help truly comes from. Embrace it! Put action to it and you will rise above your dark covering. It worked for me and I know it will work for you as well.
"The Lord looks over us from where he rules in heaven. Gazing into every heart from his lofty dwelling place, he observes all the peoples of the earth. The Creator of our hearts considers and examines everything we do. Even if a king has the best-equipped army, it would never be enough to save him. Even if the best warrior went to battle, he could not be saved simply by his strength alone. Human strength and the weapons of man are false hopes for victory; they may seem mighty but they will always disappoint. The eyes of the Lord are upon even the weakest worshipers who love him - those who wait in hope and expectation for the strong, steady love of God. God will deliver them from death, even the certain death of famine, with no one to help. The Lord alone is our radiant hope and we trust in him with all our hearts. His wrap-around presence will strengthen us. As we trust, we rejoice with an uncontained joy flowing from Yahweh! Let your love and steadfast kindness overshadow us continually, for we trust and we wait upon you!" Psalm 33:13-20 (TPT)
One of the strategies, God has given me was to reach out to Apostolic Prophetic Voices from around the world to speak into our lives. The call was sent out and twelve apostolic prophetic voices responded to that call. As they have brought forth the word of the Lord, the fire has not only been ignited within me but is expanding. Each Sunday morning at The Gathering (our church) and on FaceBook live, these apostolic prophetic voices are forcing that dark cloud to dismantle. These are powerful words reaching down as a hand to pull you up. God has heard your cries but now you have to extend your hand for help. God will put your feet back on the firm foundation. You can view these messages on our website www.gatheringhoulton.org. Let God be your radiant hope!
